60 Years of Experience - for Happy Babies and Happy Parents
Today's Weego baby carriers trace their roots back to the very first soft baby carrier, created over 60 years ago by Ann and Mike Moore from Colorado. Since then this pioneering invention has evolved through decades of experience and care.
1960's
While working as Peace Corps volunteers in Togo in the 1960's, Mike and Ann Moore made an amazing observation: Babies rarely cried when carried on their mother's backs.
1969
The Moores later gave birth to their own daughters. Recalling the contented babies they had experienced in West Africa, Ann and her mother created a soft baby carrier (the first soft baby carrier) that would keep her baby close, comfortable and remarkably quiet.
1990's
That was many years ago. The Moores, now grandparents, were encouraged to update their original baby carrier to meet the needs of today's active parents.
The inspired result are today's Weego Soft Baby Carriers.
2000
In 2000, Stefanie Hollerbach (a relative of Ann and Mike) learned about the Weego. Stefanie had just given birth to her second daughter, who could not be soothed when she screamed seemingly endlessly for weeks. The Weego Baby Carrier seemed like the perfect solution - and it was.
Stefanie was so enthusiastic about the Weego that shortly after experiencing its calming effects on her fussy baby, she took over the distribution of Weego in Europe. When Ann and Mike Moore retired, it was only a small step to take over and continue the Weego family business.
